Elopement Gift Ideas for the Adventurous Couple in Your Life

a couple sits along a rocky shore of a river in Buena Vista, Colorado

Elopement gifts are a sweet way for couples to celebrate their marriage. They're also a great way to incorporate friends and family on your special day even though you're opting out of a traditional wedding. But when it comes to adventurous couples, it can be a little difficult deciding which gifts are the best fit and will actually serve a purpose beyond your special day.

That’s why I've created this gift guide, chock-full of things like gear, frames, prints - even gift cards you can use until your next anniversary! I’ve divided this list into two categories: elopement gifts from family and friends, and elopement gifts for each other. Whatever your adventure, I’m sure you’ll find something perfect in this little gift guide of the best elopement gifts for couples.

Elopement Gifts from

Family and Friends

Elopement gifts from family and friends can be a little tricky. Sometimes it can be a little unnerving for them to choose a gift for you that you'll actually like. Giving them a little insight goes a lonngg way, (have you ever had that friend or family member who you never know what to get them for their birthday?) so I hope some of these gift ideas will do the trick! Keep reading below for some of my favorite elopement gift ideas from your loved ones.

  • Passport America Pass

Ricky and I travel fulltime in our RV so we've stayed at our share of campgrounds. Some have been amazing, and some have been...interesting. So for my couples who love to camp, this is a game changer. Passport America is program that has paired with a string of campgrounds in the United States to provide campers a 50% discount on their nightly rates. For example: say a campground is usually around $35 per night during the summertime, with a Passport America Pass, that would drop the price down to $17 per night. This allows you to stay in amazing campgrounds around the country for a fraction of the cost! This handy little pass is only $44 for a year, so even if you only stay at two campgrounds, it's worth it!

  • America the Beautiful Pass

My ultimate favorite gift - and this goes for any adventurer out there - the "America the Beautiful" pass is an annual pass you can purchase to have access to any National Park in the United States as well as over 2000 other federal lands, such as National Recreation Areas for one whole year!! This is great for the bucket-listers, weekend warriors, or for anyone who likes National Parks. At only $80, it’s completely worth the purchase!

  • Framed Coordinates of Your Elopement Location

This is such a sweet idea that you can hang in your house for years to come. Having a frame in your house as a reminder of your little adventure on your special day is beyond the cutest thing and a great conversation starter when guests come over. You can find tons of ideas on Etsy for a great price!

  • A Cozy Blanket

After your elopement, when you're sitting together with your love for the first evening after you say your "I do's" and you're looking out at the night sky and the glistening stars, what better gift to have than a cozy blanket to snuggle up in? There are a ton of different brands to choose from, but one of my favorites is this boho patterned blanket you can find on Amazon.

  • Honeymoon Fund

A Honeymoon Fund is a great idea to consider in place of a registry. Basically you set up a fund (like a fundraiser) that let's your friends and family contribute to your dream honeymoon experience. This can be paying for the flight to Maui, paying for a guided night-time hike in Norway to see the Northern Lights, whatever your heart desires! There are many different outlets that allow you to create a fund but Honeyfund and Zola are two of the top reviewed ones out there!

  • The Adventure Challenge Book

The Adventure Challenge is definitely a fun way to start off any marriage. If you find your date nights are all the same "Olive Garden and Netflix" and you're wanting to do something different, but don't know where to start - this is where. The Adventure Challenge is a book full of different date night ideas, but here's the catch - you won't know what it is until you scratch it off the day of your date. It could be anything! From baking a pie blindfolded, to having a picnic on an air mattress in the middle of a lake - it brings all the spark into a relationship without having to scroll through Pinterest for ideas you can both agree on. And the best part - it comes with a polaroid camera to capture the memories! There's tons of different books to choose from, but here's my favorite.

Elopement Gifts for Each Other

An elopement gift for your lover is not only a sweet way to say ‘I love you’, but also an amazing way to get them something they've been wanting or needing, (like a new pair of Chaco's). On top of any of the gifts listed above, here's some additional ideas for things you could get your love to open on your elopement day.

  • Hiking Boots

A sweet gift you can give your lover is a good pair of hiking boots. These will allow for endless adventures, yes - but it's also a great idea to have a sturdy pair of hiking boots for your adventure elopement, too! There are many (and I mean many) options when it comes to hiking boots so definitely do your research! Another fun idea if they already have a pair is to get a pair of canvas shoes and have the outside or the inseam embroidered with your elopement date or a special message, you can find many artists who do this on Etsy. Some great brands of hiking boots are Hoka One One, Salomon, and Merrell.

  • Hiking Backpack

If you and your lover are planning on going backpacking for your honeymoon, or if you enjoy backpacking during the summers together out in the backcountry, this is a great gift to give them! There are different sizes to choose from, and different features with each. But if nothing else - please get one with padded shoulders. It makes a world of a difference! Check out this blog post from Switch Back Travel on the best backpacking backpacks of this year.

  • A Custom Embroidered Pair of Hiking Socks

Piggybacking off the canvas shoe idea, another sweet idea is to get a cozy pair of hiking socks embroidered with a customized message to your lover on your special day with the coordinates and your elopement date on the other. I think this is beyond a sweet idea and the cool thing with socks is they last for much longer than you'd think. So even if your love is chilly in the house and wants to put on a cozy pair of socks, when they reach for these, they'll be reminded of the greatest day of their lives. Check out Etsy for inspiration.

  • Water Bottle

Every. hiker. needs. a water bottle. Whether it's a simple walk on your favorite trail, or an extended trek to Conundrum Hot Springs - you'll definitely want to bring a water bottle with you! Plus, water bottles are the perfect place to put stickers from all of your adventures! Hydroflask just released their limited edition National Park bottles, so you can check them out here.
